A delegated act published on 17 September 2026 adjusts the list of products covered by the European Union's Deforestation Regulation. Several rubber products have been removed.
What's changing
Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/2102, published on 17 September 2026 and effective the following day, amends the annex to the Deforestation Regulation. Certain products under headings ex 4010 and ex 4016 have been removed, while heading ex 4012 has been limited to subheading ex 4012 90 30.
The text covers natural rubber derived from rubber trees. Synthetic rubber is not included. Some additions will only apply from 30 December 2027.
What this changes for suppliers
Importers, processors and users of rubber must review the list of their products subject to due diligence obligations. Traceability solution providers, compliance firms and suppliers of alternative materials have a specific issue to discuss with procurement and quality departments.
